Myslbek Shopping Gallery
The Myslbek Shopping Gallery is a passage between the New and Old Town connecting the busy street Na Příkopě with Ovocný Trh. The Myslbek building, opened in 1996, received its name after the famous sculptor Josef Václav Myslbek. On the facade of the building on Na Příkopě Street you will find a remarkable metal gate from stainless steel weighing 8 tons. Its two gigantic sliding wings, symbolizing the gate between the Old and New Prague, open every morning and after the closing hours of the shopping gallery they close again. The second gate, designed by Czech sculptor Karel Nepraš and leading to Ovocný Trh is interesting because of the bronze heads adorning it. The heads pointing in all directions are designed to symbolize the shopping crowds. The shopping gallery itself is designed as a relaxation shopping space dominated by a circular central space with several restaurants. You can sit and relax in Café Myslbek, Sushi Point or Pizza Coloseum, just to name a few. After a good meal or drink you can go shopping in a variety of stores offering an array goods – from cosmetics offered at the only store of the Greek brand Korres in the Czech Republic, or Marionnaud perfumerie, buy baby and maternity clothes from Mothercare, H&M, which offers limited collections by foremost world fashion designers, or very the popular Gant, to the three-story Intersport selling sports goods, or the Vagabond shoe store, and many others. The entrance to the Myslbek Shopping Gallery is from Na Příkopě 19-21 and from Ovocný Trh 8.
