ATELIER KUNC Architects focuses on building modern turn-key family houses and on the design of interiors of apartments and houses, but can also aptly handle the implementation of corporate interiors, as well as the interiors of restaurants and bars. The Prague-based studio led by MgA. Michal Kunc was founded in 1999, and since that time it has designed and implemented many family houses which attract attention at first sight with their unusual elegance and well-thought-out effort to connect the construction with the surrounding natural environment as much as possible. The team of young architects ties the house design into the garden, making it possible for the occupants of the house to get to the garden without any barriers or major shift in design. They also orient houses to achieve the best possible view and install large windows that will let in an abundance of daylight to brighten up the interior. The studies and implementations by the studio are definitely worth looking at on the studio's website, as the photographs will give you a better idea of the individual projects than just the descriptions. The studio's services include everything from the conceptualization of your family house to the selection of suppliers and contractors and on-site construction supervision. The studio has also designed and implemented many interior-only projects. In 2004, Ateliér Kunc received the Grand Prix 2004 Award for the Best Interior of the Year for its work on the Club Restaurant Stromovka. You can admire one of the studio's recently implemented interiors in the La Vita e Bella restaurant on Elišky Krásnohorské Street – the quality of the design execution as well as many original and unique details correspond exactly to the name of the restaurant – Life is Beautiful!
