The Fiery Turkey
If you happen to find yourself on romantic Kampa Island in the middle of a magical night in whimsical Prague close to a water mill, you may end up spotting the Fiery Turkey! The Fiery Turkey is an interesting ghost at that and is only available for ghost sighting and photo opts on Good Friday of each year. Beware, the Fiery Turkey is indeed on fire and hot to touch! The story goes a little something like this: The water mill owner was a man quite fond of his food especially of a roasted turkey. Turkey was his favorite meat and he happily feasted on a massive bird every holiday. On one such occasion he decided to fatten up three turkeys in order for him to truly enjoy Easter. As he was a religious fellow, the mill owner intended to fast on Good Friday so he could really enjoy his Easter turkey meal. In midst of his holy fast he was overcome with a hunger so great that he gobbled down a whole roasted bird in the same moment of time when Jesus was placed in his tomb. After devouring the bird he feel ill, had a gall bladder attack and promptly died. Ever since the death of the gluttonous mill owner the Fiery Turkey has appeared every year on Good Friday, perched atop the mill owner gobbling loudly, challenging anyone to approach. Be aware that the Fiery Turkey cannot be ‘killed’ or banished from Kampa Island and make sure to wear flameproof clothing in case you meet this evil bird.
