Jablíčkov

Mothers' and fathers' center Jablíčkov is a civic association that offers space for play for newborn children to 6 year olds and their parents who can share their experience with child care and education. The Jablíčkov center in Prague's Strašnice was established from the initiative of several mothers in October 2001. Parents and children between 1 to 3 years of age can take part in various art, music, sports and theater classes. Lectures and debates on child care and education are held on irregular basis. Once a week in spring months group trips with strollers are organized to interesting sites in Prague, such as Prokop valley, Šárka, Petřín, and the like. Besides programmes for children and their parents, parents themselves can attend e.g. physiotherapeutic exercise programmes and various seminars where parents have time for themselves – they can be creative, talk with other parents, learn something new and forget the everyday stereotype for a while.
