Dvůr Králové ZOO

The Dvůr Králové ZOO is the only zoo in the Czech Republic to offer an African Safari from May till the end of September. Take your family for a trip and take part in a safari-style ride amidst freely roaming animals – ungulates and birds – at the Dvůr Králové ZOO, which specializes in Africa and is the biggest breeder of African animals in Europe. At the zoo you can visit many pavilions and pens including the Carnivore Pavilion, where you will see predatory mammals mostly from Africa, one of the biggest aviaries in the Czech Republic, a bird forest which also houses the orangutans, the Dinosaur World with 13 life-sized dinosaur models, the Primate Pavilion, lions and much more. Every day there is a sightseeing train going from the Meercats to the lions that will take you through the zoo if you do not want to walk or if you have little ones with you. At the Dvůr Králové ZOO which is the largest zoo in the Czech Republic in terms of the number of animals held, you can also become a zoo keeper for a day and experience what it is like to take care of exotic animals. In the summer season you can take part in a guided off-road safari with an African dinner or enjoy other experience programs that the Dvůr Králové ZOO offers. After a zoo tour you can refresh yourself at the U Lemura restaurant at the main zoo entrance and observe playing lemurs whose house is a part of the restaurant's entertaining interior.
