Děčín ZOO
The Děčín Zoo in northern Bohemia was opened in 1949 in the beautiful area surrounded by a forest park on Pastýřská Stěna in the Bohemian Switzerland region. Throughout its six hectares you can see approximately 450 animals representing more than 150 species. Even though the Děčín Zoo belongs among the smaller zoological gardens in the Czech Republic, thanks to its forested location it is counted among the most beautiful, and presents an ideal destination for your next family trip. At first sight you will certainly fall in love with the resident grizzly bears in whose breeding the zoo specializes. These robust mammals are to be found in a lovely natural pen. At the zoo you can also see mountain goats, capybaras, many of the small colorful birds of Indonesia, Amur Leopards, Maned Wolves, and much much more. The Děčín Zoo is a paradise for children, as games and fun await, as well as a large children’s area with a castle, a high rope course and a climbing wall. The entire zoo is equipped with interactive devices thanks to which children can experience the zoological garden through all 5 senses, making for a fun and educational day out. With their parents, children can take one of the trails that provide information about certain animals in an entertaining way. The zoo ticket also allows free entrance to the independent Rajské Ostrovy (Paradise Islands) exhibit in the city center where the exotic plants and animals of the Fiji, Sulawesi and Haitian Islands await, including an exciting Sea World.
