Museum Montanelli
Located in the gorgeous Lesser Town district of Prague and situated on charming Nerudova Street is the privately owned and operated Museum Montanelli. Run by The DrAK Foundation, the museum’s main goal in existing is to administer and present the collections of both the DrAK Foundation and private collections. Shows are composed of monographic exhibitions of artists and group exhibitions. It is interesting to note that viewings with commentary, workshops and educational programs for youth are included with each and every exhibition. Dadja Altenburg-Kohl in 2006, a businesswoman and physician who saw the ties between artistic expression and freedom after the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, founded the DrAK Foundation. As Alten-burg Kohl is at home in both German and Czech cultures, her vision of presenting contemporary art in a historical context is what makes the exhibitions at the Museum Montanelli so interesting. If you wish to see contemporary art in one of the most intriguing private galleries in Prague, pay a visit to the Museum Montanelli in Prague’s Lesser Town.
