Jiří Švestka Gallery

Founded in 1995 as one of the first of its kind, the Jiří Švestka Gallery is Prague’s leading independent gallery, which focuses on Czech and Central European contemporary art. The gallery’s main goal is to promote young talented artists from the Czech lands and from Central Europe to the global audience of the prestigious art world. The gallery was established by Jiří Švestka, a significant personality of both Prague's and Berlin's art scenes, who has dedicated his life to the search of young talented artists. Since the gallery’s opening it has organized numerous exhibitions that have featured the cream of the crop of the Czech and European art scene, all the while taking part in over 20 international art fairs on a regular basis. Moreover, the gallery belongs among popular cultural hubs and is sought after by Czech artists as well as by lovers of the most delicate contemporary art. The Jiří Švestka Gallery is on Janáčkovo nábřeží, just a few steps from the Vltava riverbank and in the vicinity of the business and commercial zone of Anděl, the Dancing House and the Lesser Town.
