Lipno Dam

The Lipno Dam, sometimes referred to as the 'Czech Sea', is the largest man-made dam in the Czech Republic and covers an area of more than 48 square kilometers. The dam, located by the southern border of the Czech Republic and neighboring Sumava National Park is a popular vacation destination during all seasons, and offers plenty of opportunities for those who want to be active or just relax and get to know the beautiful south-Bohemian landscape. When it comes to less common activities you could try the unique treetop walkway which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside as well as of the different levels of the forest and features the longest dry toboggan in the Czech Republic as well as 17 other "adrenalin" stops and a 40 meter-high watchtower. This unique path was opened in 2012 and is wheelchair accessible.
