Jan Šibík: Severní Korea
Czech photographer Jan Šibík visited the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, as the countryis officially called, three times in fourteen years. This book provides a unique testimony to the transformation of this seemingly immovable and unchangeable country, particularly during the reign of the second of the Kim dynasty, Kim Jong Il, and in the era of his son Kim Jong Un. Jan Šibík has captured not only the peculiar rituals that accompany events in North Korea, enhancing the appearance of its immobility, but also the real life that is typically hidden from foreign visitors.
