*The exhibition *École de Paris: Artists from Bohemia and Interwar Paris is on view from 8 November 2024 to 2 March 2025 in the Wallenstein Riding School.** When one says "Czech artists in interwar France", the names František Kupka, Josef Šíma, Jindřich Štyrský and Toyen come to mind. If the same was said to an art-loving Parisian of the 1920s, the first names that came to mind were Georges Kars, Othon Coubine and François Zdenek or François Maurice Eberl. It was they who were able to establish themselves the most on the Parisian interwar art scene, their works appeared in prestigious galleries and on the pages of art magazines. They were part of a cosmopolitan group of artists based primarily in Montmartre and Montparnasse, known as the School of Paris. The project will therefore attempt to map the position of Kars, Kubín and Eberl in the Parisian art movement and recall their participation in art salons and collective exhibitions. In addition to a number of hitherto unknown works by these three authors, which will form the core of the exhibition, it will also show paintings by Alén Diviš, Edita Hiršová and world-famous artists such as Amedeo Modigliani, Chaim Soutine, Jules Pascin, Fujita and Chan Orloff.
