Spectaculare Festival: Max Cooper – 3D AV Live

English music innovator Max Cooper will bring his upcoming album and a three-hour 3D AV live show as part of the Spectaculare Festival. *Max Cooper* – One of the most prominent figures on the global electronic scene and a doctor of computational biology, British producer and audiovisual artist Max Cooper is known for blending different worlds in his work. His sound draws comparisons to Jon Hopkins, the chilly nostalgia of Ólafur Arnalds, the dark poetry of Sigur Rós, and the infinite ambient passages of Aphex Twin, yet his music remains wholly unique. This time, he will perform a three-hour 3D AV set at MeetFactory, taking listeners through every corner of his production. In 2012, Resident Advisor ranked his DJ set among the top 20 electronic performances of the year, and Beatport awarded him fifth place in its Best Artist of 2012 chart. Visuals play an important role in his presentations as well – he designs his own album covers and creates most of his music videos. His extensive remix work spans avant-garde composers like Michael Nyman and Nils Frahm, bands such as Hot Chip and Au Revoir Simone, as well as dance projects like Agoria, Sasha, and Guy Andrews. Previously, Cooper performed at the Spectaculare Festival with his project Glassforms, created with American pianist Bruce Brubaker, which paid tribute to the genius of minimalist composer Philip Glass.
