Voices of Migration
Voices of Migration
A groundbreaking event that will shake up the audience's ideas about migration. ARCHA+ in cooperation with the Czech office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) invites you to the inaugural edition of Voices of Migration, which will take place on 4 December 2024. This innovative festival aims to break stereotypes and present migration as a natural part of our society. An opportunity to look behind the curtain of clichés and prejudices, the festival will offer a varied programme that combines intellectual stimulation with artistic expression: - A panel discussion moderated by Tomáš Lindner from the weekly magazine Respekt, with the participation of journalist Fatima Rahimi, Pavel Bacik from the state administration and academic Josef Novotný, promises an insightful look into current migration issues. - This exclusive podcast will give an insight into the lives of a young generation with migration experience. - The evening will be spiced up with stand up comedy by Alisher Nurakhmetov and a slam poetry performance, offering a fresh perspective on the migration experience. - It will end with a concert and DJ set that will keep the participants dancing until late. The festival is not just about theoretical debates - it is a living platform where people with direct migration experience will come together and share their stories. Audiences can discover new perspectives, challenge received ideas and be part of an open dialogue that shapes the future of society. People come to the Czech Republic for work, family, security or new opportunities, and so do Czechs go abroad. The Voices of Migration event aims to open up the debate about migration in society and to better understand it. Admission to the event is free with prior registration.
