Kinowar 2025: My, naši mazlíčci a válka + Já, chata
*On the occasion of the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine, Kinovarta, with the support of Prague cinemas and associations, is organizing a benefit show of contemporary Ukrainian cinema in Prague. All proceeds from tickets and donations will go to support Ukraine.* Us, Our Pets and the War / Anton Ptushkin / Ukraine, Kanda, 2024 / This is a story of life, humanity and the incredibly close bond between humans and animals, made even more so by the war in Ukraine. The main characters of the film are not only cats, dogs, bears, lions, lemurs and the Yemeni chameleon "Igorek", but also the people who save them and risk their own lives. They are soldiers and volunteers, foreigners and Ukrainians, helping animals in air-raid shelters and at the front, at home and abroad. But just when it looked like we were saving animals, it was actually animals that saved us. Kinowar 2025 isn't just about unique films that the average viewer won't see, it's not just about fundraising - it's about the community highlighting the debate about the aggressive invasion of Ukraine and Russia's equally aggressive information and political interventions across Europe. It's a communication platform, it's a call to action to defend freedom of speech, democracy. Accompanying program - debates, meetings with documentary filmmakers, historians, analysts, Ukrainists, journalists, presentation of Ukrainian brand producers, VR films. All proceeds from the entrance fee go to support Ukraine (through Tym4Ukraine funds, Air Force of Ukraine).
