University of Economics in Prague

The University of Economics in Prague is the leading university in the field of management and economics in the Czech Republic, as well as the largest. At the present time the university boasts more than 19,000 students studying at the six faculties which offer a broad spectrum of academic disciplines in undergraduate, masters and doctoral degree programs. The University of Economics in Prague is highly appreciated at home and abroad and is a trusted partner for foreign universities. The University's honorary degree "Doctor honoris causa” has been granted to prominent Czech and foreign economists, for example to the Nobel Prize winner Professor Robert A. Mundell, Professor Milton Friedman or Professor Gary S. Becker. In addition to specialized courses from a wide range of study fields, there is also great emphasis on foreign language education. The University of Economics features its own sporting facilities and supports a variety of free time activities for its students. The University has its own choir, chamber orchestra, film club, theater class and two student magazines. The students of the University of Economics in Prague are represented in various international student organizations and many other interest groups.
