The Devil's Stream | Haunt of Karbourek the Water Sprite

Karbourek the Water Sprite

Karbourek the Water Sprite is a friendly ghost part of local folklore; he is best described as affectionate, peace loving and kind hearted. He lives in the Čertovka stream, which in the English language translates to the Devil’s Stream, and can be found occasionally coming up from the shallow stream and begging passersby to bring him a mug of beer from the local pubs. In the olden days he used to visit the local pubs to drink with the regulars, during which friendly bartenders would bring him a bucket of water to rest his feet in so he would feel at home. In modern times, bartenders stopped providing Kabourek with a bucket of water, which he considered very rude. He started to hate everything new and wished to stay under the water surrounded by antiques. So he decided to stay in his river stream with his belongings (rumored to be complete with a painting of the Emperor) and every once and a while will surface if he is thirsty for a beer. Those who aid him in quenching his thirst will be rewarded with a pike or an eel.
