Cafe de Paris
Located in romantic Mala Strana next to the Lennon Wall, Cafe de Paris is a wonderful find. Cozy and intimate, this family-run Parisian brasserie features al fresco dining during the mild months. The French interior is simply pleasing with wooden chairs, large windows, plants and French posters depicting the feline (every French establishment must have the famous Tournee de Chat Noir advertisement poster by Steinlen on its walls). The menu is small, but the French fare featured is very tasty, most notably the Entrecote Cafe de Paris filet of beef served with fresh, very hot French fries and a small salad. The beef comes with your choice of sauce, either the Bearnaise sauce with estragon, the Parisian sauce with red wine or the Cafe de Paris sauce, a 75 year old secret recipe; try to place the flavors. Cafe de Paris also features a vegetarian version of the special dish, as well as salads, foie gras, French onion soup, a cheese plate and a few other wonderful main meals such as risotto and Savoy Tartiflette. Affordable wines from France, the Czech Republic, Spain, Argentina, Italy, Chile and America are available to sip while taking in the French atmosphere. Bollinger, Gosset Excellence, and Veuve Cliquot are all available, as well as Bohemia Sekt. Bon Appetit!
