Sample delicious locally crafted Czech beer in Prague's hip neighborhood of Holešovice. Situated in the old harbor area next to the Vltava River, Pivovar Marina (Marina Brewery) is housed in an old industrial boathouse building, one of the original harbor buildings left in the area. The attractive, renovated building boasts high ceilings with exposed rafters (creating an open, airy atmosphere), and a tasteful interior with dark handsome furnishings. Pivovar Marina is split into two sections – a beer hall / restaurant and a fine dining restaurant serving Mediterranean fare. The food served at the beer hall / restaurant is hearty, delicious Czech fare, and the beer is simply heavenly. At this brewery / restaurant you can see the large vats of beer behind glass walls, so you can be sure that the mouthwatering beer you are tasting is indeed locally produced. It is also of interest to note that the brewmaster is often onsite, should you have any questions regarding his liquid creations. At Pivovar Marina you can taste four different kinds of beer (Harbor draft 10 °, 11 ° wheat beer, Holešovický lager 12 °, and 13 ° Marina special – a sort of half and half / dark and tan). The beer is light and refreshing, and makes this off the radar establishment worth checking out. Beer lovers take note – Pivovar Marina is waiting for you.
