SVIT

The SVIT gallery opened in August 2010 and is one of the youngest Prague galleries. It is located in the courtyard of a 19th century print factory in Prague's Smíchov, only a 10-minute walk from the Anděl shopping area and the Charles Bridge. The SVIT gallery presents exhibitions of Czech and international artists and opens lively discourse about latest positions and developments in contemporary art. SVIT brings emerging Czech artists into international contexts, presents them at main art fairs and develops their connections to respected institutions and private collections. So far, the SVIT gallery has presented the following artists: Markus Selg, Martin John, Jiří Kovanda, Vladimír Skrepl, Erwin Kneihsl, Marek Meduna, Alexander Wolf, Matěj Smetana, Habima Fuchs, Monika Zawadski, Lumír Hladík and Michal Budny. It also cooperates with Andrew Gilbert, Vasil Artamonov/Alexey Klyuykov and Lukáš Jasanský/Martin Polák. The gallery opening hours are from Wed. till Sat. from 2 p.m. till 7 p.m. and at other times more convenient by appointment.
