Trosky Castle

Situated in the center of Český ráj (Czech Paradise) and overlooking the gorgeous rocky and lush green landscape is the ruin of Trosky Castle. The symbol of Czech Paradise, the castle features two towers, aptly named Baby and Panna, or Grandma and Maiden. The grand castle ruin stands tall and proud atop two basalt volcanic plugs that stand quite high from the bottom of the hill, which made the castle once impregnable. Due to fire and war however the structure is now a grand ruin, and how grand it is, as you will witness its admirable power as it captures and steals the spotlight from the natural rock paradise that surrounds it. The area of the Czech Paradise is extremely popular with hikers, cyclists and romantics and of course, lovers of castles, especially romantic castle ruins. Trosky Castle is one of the Czech Republic’s most famous castles and is a sight to behold; do not miss it!
